Challenge
A learning platform operating across dozens of partner domains needed every email to reflect the correct partner’s brand. Order confirmations, course enrollments, and subscription reminders all arrived with the primary domain’s branding, creating a disconnected experience for learners who had signed up through a partner site.
The disconnect undermined partner trust and created confusion for end users who didn’t recognize the sender. Maintaining separate email templates for each partner was not sustainable as the partner network grew.
Solution
84EM developed an automatic email white-labeling system that transforms outgoing emails based on the partner domain associated with each user or order. Every outgoing message – order confirmations, course notifications, subscription reminders – is automatically branded to the correct partner.
The solution integrates with both the e-commerce and learning management email systems, replacing URLs, colors, and branding elements without requiring separate templates for each partner. One set of templates serves the entire partner network.
Partner configurations are stored centrally, and new partners can be onboarded through a single configuration entry – no development work required.
Key Capabilities
- Automatic brand transformation that replaces URLs, colors, sender names, and subject line references with the correct partner branding across all transactional emails, without modifying the underlying email templates.
- Domain capture at every touchpoint that records the partner domain during registration, login, and purchase, ensuring accurate branding even when users interact with multiple partner sites.
- Subscription branding continuity that maintains the correct partner branding through renewal cycles by inheriting the domain from the original subscription.
Results
Partner users now receive fully branded email communications throughout their entire learning journey. Order confirmations, course enrollment notices, and subscription reminders all display the correct partner domain and branding – a consistency that was impossible with the previous system.
The platform can onboard new partners by configuring a single entry without any code changes or template modifications. What previously would have required custom email templates for each partner now happens automatically through the white-labeling system.
A recurring issue where users who registered on one partner site and later logged in from another would receive emails with incorrect branding was resolved automatically. The system now updates branding preferences at each login, keeping communications current regardless of how users navigate between partner sites.
For the platform operator, the solution eliminated the maintenance burden of managing separate email templates for each partner. A single set of templates serves all partners, with branding applied dynamically at send time.
