Challenge

An AI-powered platform needed members to access multiple connected applications directly from their WordPress member portal without logging in to each tool separately. The fragmented login experience was frustrating users and creating support overhead as members managed credentials across multiple systems.

Administrators had no centralized way to control which users could access which applications. Granting or revoking access required configuring each tool individually – a process that didn’t scale as the platform added new applications and members.

Solution

84EM built a custom WordPress plugin that turns the member portal into the single login point for the entire platform. Users sign in once on WordPress and can then instantly access any connected application with a single click.

Administrators manage integrations through a familiar WordPress interface and can assign specific applications to individual users. New applications can be connected through configuration rather than custom development.

The solution supports any compatible application, making it flexible enough to grow with the platform as new tools are added. Onboarding new members includes automatic access to their default set of tools, reducing administrative overhead from day one.

Key Capabilities

  • One-click application access. Members authenticate once on WordPress and then access any connected tool without additional login steps.
  • Per-user access control. Administrators assign specific applications to individual users, with default assignments for new users to streamline onboarding.
  • Self-service integration management. Administrators add, configure, and manage connected applications through a WordPress interface without developer involvement.
  • Flexible placement. Access buttons can be positioned anywhere on the site, fitting naturally into existing page layouts and navigation.

Results

Members moved from logging in separately to each connected tool to accessing everything with a single click after WordPress authentication. The friction of managing multiple logins across the platform was eliminated entirely.

Administrators gained centralized control over application access that previously didn’t exist. Before the integration, managing which users could access which tools required configuring permissions in each application separately. Now it’s managed from a single WordPress interface.

The per-user assignment capability means the organization can grant and revoke access instantly as membership changes or as new applications are added to the platform. Onboarding new members includes automatic access to their default set of tools.

New applications join the platform through configuration, not custom development. As the platform grows, each new tool connects through the same system without engineering work for every addition.
