How do you automate review collection?
Send review requests automatically when an order reaches the right stage, timed and targeted without a person deciding when or whom to invite. Manual review requests are inconsistent by nature: someone has to remember to send them, and timing is often off in either direction.
Timing review requests
The right moment depends on what was delivered. A product review request makes sense once an order has actually arrived, not the moment it ships. A service or consultation makes more sense to request right after completion, while the experience is still fresh. Getting the timing automated, rather than left to whoever remembers, is what makes collection rates consistent instead of unpredictable.
Post-purchase engagement
Review requests are one piece of a bigger opportunity: every order completion, subscription milestone, or account event is a trigger point for automated follow-up, not just a review ask. Consistent, well-timed engagement after purchase is what turns a single sale into a returning customer.
Personalizing follow-up
Generic post-purchase emails get ignored. Follow-up that reflects what was actually purchased, and tracks whether a customer has already been asked (so no one gets duplicate requests for the same order) reads as attentive rather than automated. That tracking has to be built once, correctly, so it doesn’t quietly break at volume.
Real example
84EM built an automated review invitation system for an e-commerce subscription brand that sends product and service review requests separately based on the type of interaction, with duplicate-prevention tracking so no customer is asked twice for the same transaction. Review collection became consistent instead of dependent on staff remembering to send invitations.
